How to Choose the Right Mylar Bag Size

Bag size is one of the most common things brands get wrong. Too big and your product looks lost and cheap; too small and it won’t seal cleanly. Here’s how to size it right.

Match the bag to the weight

Start with how much product goes in each bag. As a rough guide for flower:

• 1g — small flat pouches
• 3.5g (eighth) — the most common retail size
• 7g (quarter) — mid-size bag
• 14g (half) — larger, often gusseted
• 28g (ounce) — large gusseted bags for bulk

Denser product (edibles, concentrates with inserts) packs smaller; fluffy flower needs more room. Every product page lists exact width × height so you can match precisely.

Leave headspace for the seal

Always leave about half an inch of clean film at the top. That’s your seal zone — fill to the brim and you’ll get weak, messy seals. (See our heat-sealing guide.)

Flat vs. gusseted

Flat bags are clean and cheap for smaller weights. Gusseted bags expand at the bottom to stand up and hold more — better for halves, ounces, and chunky edibles.
